Confidence is Sexy.

As many of you have read, in several of my posts, I am constantly writing about how important it is to feel confident and comfortable in your own skin. There are many flaws, imperfections, a couple extra inches here and there or lack there of, etc. that each of us tend to pick apart on ourselves, but when it comes down to style and how you feel, Confidence in how you look will show more style, and sexiness (effortlessly) than what you are actually wearing will. Of course having a fab pair of heels with a slammin' outfit is part of your style, but I have seen many women out there who have a rockin' outfit on yet don't look comfortable with themselves in it, and it takes so much away from their whole ensemble. The opposite of that is true too. I have seen some women with some 'different' attire ( according to my taste) yet they are confident in how they look, they feel like they are rockin' it and you can't help but notice them. And of course there are those that are wearing some things that they really should not be wearing and feel confident in that, and that is just simply denial when in the mirror! Part of being confident is really knowing what looks good on you, what flatters you, and what just doesn't look good on you (no matter how "in " it is). When you are aligned with knowing what to wear, and how to wear it, your confidence naturally goes up because your belief in knowing you really do look good is there. Part of that is also learning to embrace the good qualities about yourself, play those up and know that everyone has flaws and certain things about themselves that they don't like. That's just a fact of life. It is interesting too, that in almost every article we read in our Glamours, Cosmos, Vogues and so on, we hear that men are always attracted to a confident women...they just are. Confidence is sexy! Women notice confident women too...we all know we do;)
I hope I can help to inspire many of you readers in stepping out with confidence in how you look and feel about yourself. It doesn't mean looking perfect, but it does mean really deciding to go with what looks best on YOU, what doesn't (oh well, there is never enough for us to get a hold of in the world of fashion...hence go with a different look) and dressing for yourself. If it's a little different but looks amazing on you then wear it. If you truly know something looks good on you, then go with it...the attitude you will have will make it look even better too. Don't always assume sexy is just by what you are wearing. In fact sometimes we try to wear something to look sexy and it just doesn't look that way at all, due to it might not really being the best look on us, not feeling very comfortable in it, or perhaps feeling to old for it. Perhaps the best advice I can give is this (which was given to me by a beautiful, graceful, and confident women herself): Sexiness only lasts for so long, but having confidence in yourself, and who you are, lasts forever if you want it to...and that is sexy!

Here are some women I have posted that always seem to have a sense of confidence with who they are, which is a big reason for their success....and I am sure many of them have certain flaws they dislike, though we would never know it!

There's always room for some new Styles.

I always like to check out the 'Fashion and Beauty' sections of some of my morning talk shows and I stumbled up this little clip. I wanted to share it with you all. Gives a view of what we are soon to be seeing, and already are, in some of our favorite shopping spots! I love some of these looks, and the best part is that you can create any of these looks ( or similar ones, more so) with what you already have in your closet! Check it out.

* Sorry everyone, there is the link to watch the 'Fashion and Beauty' clip I was trying to post. For some reason it was posting the whole segment of the news too, but that link is for the one clip only...sorry for the malfunction but still check the link out for some new ideas. If I can get it to embed on here later I will!

Speaking of the news, my thoughts and prayers are with all of those in Haiti who are suffering from that devastating earth quake. May we all truly be thankful for what we have, as many have just lost everything, some there lives or the lives of their beloved.

Picks of the Week.

While I didn't see the show, I have definitely seen the pics from this event all over the net, and therefore decided to post my top five picks, of the dresses (and just over all look) that most caught my eye.....enjoy!!!

Taraji looks so beautiful in this color and flow of the dress. The cinched waist looks fab with the one shoulder. It looks really comfy on your skin too!

Ginnifer Goodwin almost never disappoints me with her style sense. Love her pixie, and the dress looks fabulous on her....I would wear this one too.

Though her stance looks a little awkward in the pick (to me anyway), Sandra looks good in this length and cut. Nice style and good pick for this type of awards show.

This was my favorite dress on Miss Queen Latifa...she looks gorgeous!

This one that Demi Lavato is wearing is definitely something I would wear. Love the color, the length, the ruffles, and the bodice to show off her curves! She did a nice job with her statement necklace too.

Here are couple of runner ups for me....

Leah Michele looks great in the red, and I actually like that she kept it simple and went with out a necklace.

Carrie looks beautiful, and while the skirt of the dress is not necessarily my style, I am LOVING those heels!!!

Happy Friday to you all, and I want to leave all you readers with something to take with you in thought this weekend. This was sent to me, I of course sent it on to many women that are important to me, and that I wanted to give some extra encouragement and empowerment to. I really want to share it with all of you as well (women and men, it truly applies to both) in hopes of planting a little seed of hope and inspiration in your pretty little heads and hearts too!

Quotation: “May today there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others. May you use the gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content with yourself just the way you are. Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us.”

Blessings!!!

BIG up to Serena Williams.

Serena Williams has recently paired up with HSN and has not only developed her own line, but she is definitely selling it as well. It was reported that she had a sell out with her line, on her debut with the network. I think that it is great that a woman such as herself (an athlete, not a size a 2, and someone not necessarily known as a 'fashion icon') has come out with a line that seems to relate to the style of many 'everyday' women. I love that she has shown that not only can she take it by force on the court, which she does always seem to have a style of her own on the court, but she can do so off the court as well.....now in the world of fashion!

Here are just a few of her items below, most are customer picks. Though her line seems pretty small right now, I can only imagine the growth that is to come if it is selling at the rate that it has been said to be going. You can go here serena-williams/serena-williams_ to view more.

Hope you all are back in the swing of things after some time off!!

2010=RESPONSIBILITY

My new year's resolution for 2010, I only have only one but a BIG one....RESPONSIBILITY. I am talking about every aspect of my life. The Responsibility to wake up and exercise (after praying and reading with my husband), Responsibility to spend quality time with my kids, to eat right, to go for those ideas I have about my future, to act on my thoughts,to truly seek the Lord first, to spend time doing things I don't really want to do but know I need to do,to pay a bill before going shopping, to get things fixed right away instead of letting them go, to keep order in my house, to build a great inheritance for my children, to pay some extra attention to my beloved husband etc. I am holding myself accountable to be Responsible in all areas of my life. Our pastor at our church here has also been preaching of this being the year of Responsibility. When I saw the title of Alica Keys new album, The Element OF Freedom, I thought that that is exactly what I will be feeling by taking complete Responsibility for ALL of my actions. Where we are today is usually a direct affect of what we are, and have been, doing in our lives and decisions we have made. When you decide to be Responsible and 'get it done', for lack of better words, I feel that freedom is exactly what you are giving yourself. There are so many goals that I have personally, and that my husband and I have together, and I want to not only reach them , but REACH MY FULL POTENTIAL. We all have a great potential planted with in us, different for each of course, and I am taking the Responsibility upon myself (my husband too) to do all that is necessary in achieving that potential that I have been blessed with by the good Lord above. I believe that Responsibility is a major key in "THE ELEMENT OF FREEDOM".

What's Your New Year's resolution?
what ever it may be, I encourage you to take the responsibility in seeing it through....the results will be worth it!;)

Blessings this New Year!!!!
