Summer Easy

As I was Skyping with my sister yesterday, I noticed her super cute dress, which was just a short sleeve navy cotton dress belted at the waist with a chic dark brown belt. When I told her how cute she looked, she told me that she felt like wearing something easy to get in and out of and comfortable. Well, she not only had that, but she looked really good too. It got me thinking how perfect some summer dresses are for comfort, yet many of them still have you looking chic and put together. This too got me thinking that whether you are going somewhere with the kids (park, zoo, museum etc.), running errands, have a lunch date, or even work at home as my sister does, a summer dress is just the thing to wear in aiding you with some style and comfort. Take a look at some dresses from Forever21 and Layne Bryant to give you ideas for an easy, breezy fit, yet stylish as well. Even if you are not doing much, or just going somewhere with the kids, why not still feel cute?

Check it...

Get My Fashion.com is a great site for those of us that are 30+ (or close +/- a few years) and want to wear something that has some style and some trend, yet is realistic in accordance with our age and lifestyles. They carry names such as: Sandwich Clothing, Great Plains, Farhi By Nicole Farhi, French Connection, Noa Noa Clothes, Jackpot Clothing, Out of Xile, Marilyn Moore, Avoca, Odd Molly, European Culture, Paige Jeans, Michael Stars, Saint Tropez Clothes, Yummie Tummie, Stewart + Brown, made, and Camper shoes.
Check it out here:

** Remember to forget about the size when shopping and go for the fit. As women, we tend to focus on the 'number' rather than the fit. Who cares about the number? The way a garment fits you, and flatters you, is way more important, and appealing, than what the number says on the tag...something a little too snug is not always so attractive on the eyes.

What's your look?

Here are my top three favorite hairstyles that I myself usually tend to go with when getting all dressed up. Really, you can wear these (well 2 out of the three) on an everyday occasion but if we are being realistic, especially for those of us with little ones running around...or even older ones stealing our combs, hair product and other beauty needs (I confess that I am guilty of having done that to my mom) then these hairstyles usually end up being done when we have more TLC to give ourselves, along with time to get ready!

I love the loose waves look that Gisele and Amerie are both wearing. This is one of the styles that never disappoints, goes with absolutely any outfit and can be worn for any occasion. If you are wanting some extra hold, make sure to wash your hair the night before, use a good setting cream/gel/spray and don't be afraid to get some good sprays out of that hair spray. There is a great "how to" to create this look here:http://cupcakesandcashmere.com/how-to/ by Emily.

These are two different styles but they really do have the same look to them, so I paired them as one. The side pony, one I actually tend to wear quite often, is fabulous for a great day to day hairstyle too...easy, and quick too! The low asymmetrical bun is really just pinning those pieces from you ponytail around to create a little more elegant look..both are so pretty and easy. The side swept bang is one to always add some softness and class to your style too.

This style is more for the volume in the Mohawk section then the ponytail, though I like the pony too. This style is definitely not one for everyone, nor is everyone as fond of this style but I for one, love this style. It has a little edge with it, and it is something different then the side swept bang, or the flat sleek look...definitely a style that I like.

Here are a couple(seriously just a few of many) of my favorite short hair looks, for those of you that are not growing those longer locks.

Love this super short, sleek style....always wanted to have the guts to just go for it!

I have also always been a fan of the pixie. Stylish, relaxed, super easy, and actually has quite a bit of versatility with all the looks you can create with this short style.

Happy Monday to you all, and hope it has started off well. May you have a blessed week!

Picks of the week.

Whether it is warm and sunny, or chilly and in need of some extra layering, scarves tend to be something we often see as part of a stylish outfit. Here are some pics of some styles that I liked of these stylish people and their scarves.

Love....

Here are some longer styles.

Notice that the scarf will add a nice touch to the, already, cute outfit.

Nice added color to a basic top.

Of course looks nice on the dressier side too

Men are sportin' them too....

Here are some different ideas to give you......

A little more creative around the waist...

I really like these knit scarves and you can find these, along many other styles, for as low as $5.25 here: simplytouchedonline.com
