Attention all Models OR Aspiring ones.

OK, so not sure if many of you pretty faces out there have heard of this web site shown above. If you haven't, and are literally trying to get your face out there in the world of modeling, then I would seriously recommend it. With just about everything going viral these days, and the web being a platform of opportunity in almost every venue, this website is definitely worth looking into for promoting yourself. While this site is biggest for helping new and aspiring models to get seen and found by top international model agencies, it's also helps existing professional models to get maximum exposure, agencies discover and connect with the freshest international talent, photographers find and connect with the right models for their shoots and aid any other professionals (make-up artists, clients for campaign adds etc.) in this industry seeking models. It's main purpose is to connect models with everyone in the industry.

How it works: You register (FREE) and then create your own personal profile (portfolio) in order to begin networking with other members and get your face seen. For more exposure you can apply for one of their paid memberships plans. If you're very serious about pursuing modeling as a career, this might be the way to go in order to be pro-active for yourself. An added plus; they also continually post open casting calls and photo shoots that are coming up....and it's international.

Once you have your portfolio up: It is important to network, network and then network some more. Interact with people, keep your portfolio fresh and updated (which if you don't have one they offer to help make you one), participate in some social media for yourself (FB, Twitter....), and do a lot of interacting with other members on the site. Modelmanagement.com's whole purpose is to bring together models, photographers and agencies. So, if you sign up use this platform to it's fullest advantage, as this is the fastest growing model community in the world right now.

Did I mention that large companies such as Nike, elite, Ford Models, MTV, ESCADA and more use this site?

*For more information (you can find out just how much they offer) go to
http://www.modelmanagement.com

One more thing to add....they just hosted the Fresh Faces Paris 2010 competition which takes ordinary people and turns them into models. **Just a little side note to show how fast this platform is growing.

Ahhh, weekend is here.....

These can't be "mom" jeans?

And they're technically not called that. However, I am branding these See by Chloé wide leg jeans as my new pair of "mom" jeans. These are already a fabulous pair of jeans for most women, but when you are running around with the kids, bending over, picking them up, having them hang on you, etc., you definitely don't want to be in a low rise, tight pair of pants. It is so not worth the hassle, and self-consciousness that come with that. This style of jean, in particular, have a little bit of a higher waist, which not only holds your tummy in a little but they keep some coverage for when you are bending over to grab something that dropped for the 4th time...whew!

Along with all of that, wide legs are making an appearance again this season (yes!) so you'll have style to go along with comfort! Now, I realize that some of us may not have the funds in which a pair of See by Chloé jeans might cost, but you now know what is available out there, in MANY other brands. This is a great style to go check out, try on and add to your wardrobe this fall!

All images are See by Chloé jeans found at net-a-porter

Want to see just how great these jeans look? Head over to Karla's Closet and take a peak. She is wearing a pair in one of her recent posts, and you'll see why I am loving these jeans.

Have you switched over from sandals, and all opened toed shoes, to your boots yet?? I know when I lived in a climate that was cooler by now, I usually made October my official month to retire my sandals until it was time to bring them out again. Just curious what so many of you do now!

Kick Off FALL....

....with a BOLD lip color.
BET.com

Try it at least once this week. You might be pleasantly surprised at how much you like it. Putting your lips "on" really does give you a more finished look with your appearance. I almost always make sure to "put my lips on" when stepping out....even if it's just to the grocery store, and it's just gloss. But why not try going bold..tis the season!

Need to be eased in?
You can still go BOLD but do it softly. Cameron is wearing a nice soft shade of red, which is making a statement but it's still on the softer side of a dark lip color.

la-story.com

Good Rule of thumb: If you choose to go darker than your natural lip colour, try going no darker than two shades. This will give you the best over all look with your make up.

What's the best color for you?

Dark skin: Red wines, plums (deep purples), copper and browns.

Olive skin: Brownish reds, light browns and raisin shades

Fair & Medium skin: roses, mauves and berries

Dangle.

It's amazing how our accessories can often add the perfect finishing touch to our styles, that along with out lipstick and gloss. Sometimes it's fun to make a statement with them, and sometimes less can be more. Either way, I am one that loves to let things dangle off of my neck, ears and wrists! While I recommend investing in good jewelry, really it is worth it, I also know that it can be pricey, so remember that you can always pick up some fun accessories at Forever 21, T.J Max, Ross, Charlotte Russ, Express etc. The prices are very affordable.

With that being said, here are just a few pics, ideas, that I posted for you.

'Bout Time....

As most of you have seen, the first 'plus-size' run way show EVER took place at NYC Fashion Week. I think it must have been so refreshing to see some healthy looking women strutting their stuff on the run way. I am not knocking the regular, very thin models, we are used to seeing, or hatin' either, I just think that it is nice for women with a little more meat on them, and women of the average size, to be shown as stylish and beautiful as well!! It's about time they put some of these curvaceous beauties on the catwalk!

All I have to say is...it's 'bout time!!
Have a great weekend!!!!

Brown IT Up

As we are all aware of with fall comes all of these beautiful fall colors. There is something to be said about changing the color scheme up with not only our clothes, but all the shades of our makeup as well....I LOVE it!! Browns are always such a beautiful dark color to go with on the eye. They are a subtle tone of darkness that can create a melancholic, mysterious aura to the eye....matching the mood of the seasoning. I love browns because they can create a toned down bold/smokey look, bring a little neutrality to the eye and they are great accent colors. Here are some colors that work well with many shades of brown and give the eye lids a beautiful POP! Gold, Black, Plum and Teal.

The look from the picture above was created with A deep chocolate brown and a golden shade as well. Application is as follows:

" For this look, a chocolate brown with a slight shimmer was used as a wash all over the eye lid and blended up into the crease of the eye. Black eye shadow was used to smudge along the top and bottom lashes while a soft golden eye shadow was used to highlight the brow bone"

H-double 0-P-S

What's your go to item? That one consistent accessory, or article of clothing, that you almost always 'go to'. For me, it's my hoops. Whether gold or silver (preferably gold), big, jumbo, small, frosted with diamonds, odd shaped, etc. my beloved hoops are definitely my one accessory that I almost always make sure to have on. They make your hats look even better, they add a little some um' some um' when you are dressed down, they peak though your long locks to show themselves, or they make a statement when you hair is all pulled up. I love that whether you are dressed up or down, hoop earrings always come through in the style department for me!

Here are some more fellow hoop wearers, along with some different hoop styles! I think you'll see why I absolutely love my hoops!

The styles are endless with hoops...hence, you can never have too many;)

Need I say more? So, what's your go to fashion item??

Hope your Monday was fabulous!!

Perspective.

Life is too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat you right. Love the ones who don't just because you can. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands. If it changes your life, let it. Kiss slowly. Forgive quickly. God never said life would be easy. He just promised it would be worth it.

**Just wanted to give you all a little something to kick your week off with;)

Hope you all are feeling stylin' this Monday morning!!!!

Frost.

So I was on the phone with my mom the other morning and she told me that they actually already had some frost that morning in Colorado. That is a sure sign that fall is moving in, and with it is a wardrobe change. Man I miss that! Living in a tropical climate has it's perks, but one of the downsides is the lack of seasonal change. True seasonal change, for those of us that grew up in a climate that really has one. Anyhow, for those of you that are slowly starting to have those cooler mornings and nights here are some transitional sweaters, that you can purchase or bring back out of the closet.

Ditch the sweatshirt hoody, and replace it with a sweater hoody for a look that is a little more 'put together'.

I love this buckle wrap sweater dress....via VS

Cotton Thermals and jeans are such a comfy, yet cute combo for fall...perfect for those football game get-togethers.

This deep cowl neck looks good with jeans, dress pants and skirts..so versatile. Great mix and match sweater.

all three of these are via victoriassecret

I love this drapy cardigan. Again so cute, and can go with so much. It's the perfect fall staple.

another lovely cardigan....

via bananarepublic

Living in a climate that is not ready for sweaters yet, or really at all, but want to keep up with the style change? Try a sweater vest then. These sweaters are super chic, yet still super cool....

via bananarepublic

this last sweater vest: via victoriassecret

Or, try a short sleeve sweater for those warmer fall climates...via BR.

Not much into sweaters? Go with a light jacket then.

This drawstring anorak jacket is perfect for fall and can work as a great staple, especially for the weekends.

This Draped collar and tie leather coat is also chic look. It is still light weight enough to not feel like you are all bundled up. Great for those evenings you are coming home after the sun has gone down.
Both jackets above can be found via lanebryant.

Happy Weekend all!!!
